Sprinklers!!!

Yesterday Kaleb and I discovered what fun the sprinklers and a few messy covers could be. I had taken him outside to walk around and enjoy the nice weather. He had a hold of one of my fingers in each hand and was rather confidently walking towards our neighbor's yard. Once we got into the middle though... the sprinklers turned on! Picking up Kaleb we raced out of the middle.

However his initial shock at the water soon turned to pleasure and curiosity. Kaleb then sat behind one of the sprinklers where he was getting just a little wet and proceeded to try to put grass pieces into the water, he also enjoyed getting his fingers wet and then shaking his arms up and down only to repeat the process again.

Once it looked like he was getting a little too wet i took him back inside to warm up. We ended up playing on one of the beds that hadn't been made yet and getting quite a few cute pictures and noises out of him. It was adorable.

Summer Play

The last few weeks I have had the pleasure of having my sister and her three boys staying at my house with us. It has been both fun and hectic. However the end result will be lots of memories. Throughout this visit I took Ammon to the park.

We raced almost all the way to the park and so were very out of breath when we arrived. Ammon turns out to have more energy then me, but I believe that is because he is younger by... just a few years. :)

A rather funny event at the park consisted of a smaller boy that was playing at the park at the same time. He had shoulder length brown curly hair and wasn't wearing a shirt. He was probably about 3 years old or so. In any case Ammon was rather confused by the fact of this child with the long hair and no shirt and finally not willing to be unsure any longer he turned to the child's older brother who was across the playground and calls very loudly "Is He a BOY?" As a result both the child and his brother said "yes" while i was laughing fit to kill. Ammon of course didn't realize he had done anything wrong.

Braeden and I have also had some fun. He will often come up to me, such as on the 4th of July and say "Can you take a picture of me?" As a result I have quite a few pictures of him now. On the 5th he asked me that question for a good ten to fifteen minutes straight which resulted in a photo shoot of Braeden.
Later that night we as a family all went to watch the fireworks as a celebration of the 4th as it was on a sunday this year. Once we were all settled on the blanket awaiting the start of the fireworks Braeden discovered that like him I happened to have a hood on my jacket.
This resulted in us pulling our hoods over our faces and making the "Oooooooooo" sounds; because of course we were pretending to be, as Braeden calls them, "ghosties." :)

The rest of the firework show consisted of Braeden sitting in my lap and insisting that I take pictures of the fireworks; of playing 'ghosties' and of course tucking him under the blanket (which we were all sitting on) that he wanted all for himself. He spent most of the time in my lap however, and since then has repeated that a few times. It's always fun.

The other little munchkin who has been running around; or in his case mostly crawling, is Kaleb. He has one of those smiles that you just can't help but love. :)

Together me and Kaleb have taken many adventures around the house, outside, in the swings, near the trees, in a stroller, in the grass and even occasionally under the table.

As with the others there are some funny stories involved. Kaleb has a favorite person in this house: His Mother.

As happy as he is, as soon as he spots his mother that happiness is magnified fives times. He will crawl to her and pull himself to a standing position on her legs just grinning from ear to ear and making those adorable squeeling noises.
Lately however he has also taken a liking to me. So much in fact that when his brothers tease him or scare him he will crawl to me for protection. Or when he is being held by another of his aunts or uncles he will reach for me if i am nearby... unfortunately for me this has the side effect of a scowl from my siblings....

So this summer has been full of some interesting, fun, and hectic times with the three little munchkins running around. Hopefully they will provide some more wonderful and fun pictures to enjoy throughout life. :)
