In May we just spent time playing together and being silly. We went to the zoo a couple of times as well.

April

In April we did some more updates on our lovely home. We started by getting a new oven because the one we had before (electric) started to smell like gas any time we turned it on, and it was old and ugly and just needed replacing.

We also replaced all the carpet in the upstairs. We ripped out the old stuff ourselves and fixed some loose spots in the floor. We also repainted the railing for the stairs so there is no more rust and it is all pretty now.

We love the new carpet and how soft and clean that it is.

We also had our large snow storm which was about the only one for the whole winter in which we had enough to build a snowman and that it lasted for more than one day. Brett took Nakita out late one night and they built a snow-rabbit together in the backyard.

Home updates

We had some flooding/mold in one of our lower bedrooms that ruined a couple of our book shelves. So Brett made us a new one that was much stronger and nicer.

We also decided that we needed to finish tiling the upstairs. So we spent a weekend re-doing the laundry and bathroom floors. We painted and replaced the shelves in the laundry room as well.

After church one day Nakita was so tired that she came home, changed out of her dress, laid down to snuggle in her blanket and then just fell asleep on the floor for a good 2 hours or more. It was the first time she has done that in awhile.
